    About Therapist

Our Hart therapist’s practice is underpinned by two fundamental beliefs. Firstly, we all have within us a drive towards wholeness. Secondly, everyone has an innate (sometimes hidden) self-knowledge, meaning we are the best experts on ourselves.

Her therapeutic approach is client-centred, holistic and strengths-based. She provides a safe space for clients to listen to their inner wisdom, while being guided and supported within a strong therapeutic relationship.

Prior to retraining in counselling, this therapist worked in education for thirty years including working in schools, aid, and development projects, and within universities. She has extensive experience working in remote First Nations communities in Australia. She has also lived, worked and studied in Canada, the Pacific, South East Asia and the Balkans. Her diverse background provides a strong professional foundation for her counselling practice.

What are three strengths you have as a Psychologist/Counsellor?
    1. Holding safe space and listening deeply.
    2. Non-judgemental and asking open questions.
    3. The belief that the client is the expert on themselves, and that within there is a hidden
wholeness, which can be reached with supportive therapeutic practices in a safe and healing space.
What is the most satisfying and fulfilling part of the work you do?

Building relationships and working with clients who experience growth and change.

What’s an example of a couple you have helped the most?

A couple who have been together for decades – one of them had experienced a trauma to the brain.

Working with them allowed them to find new ways of communicating, when the old ways no longer worked.
